They are an engineering marvel that allow any Chiaogoo [S] or [L] TWIST interchangeable red and blue cables to swivel WITHOUT compromising the smoothness of the joins.
That's right, the already beloved memory-free red cables can now swivel! Any current owner can upgrade their ChiaoGoo interchangeable set with a pack of these adapters. In the case of the Blue Shorties, adding a swivel adaptor on just one side can increase knitting comfort while still accommodating a small circumference project.
